Barclaycard Junk Mail

My snail mail letter post has just arrived and as I’m currently logged in to my blog/site/whatever this is, I thought id report on an issue that has been getting on my nerves for some time now.

As you might have guessed by the title above, it is 100% all about bloody Barclaycard and junk mail they keep sending me.

Let me tell you all about it!

For around 3 years now I have been getting at least one item of junk mail from Barclaycard each week. Not really a life changing issue I know but I have contacted them many times via phone and post but the letters keep on coming.

I’ve never been a customer of Barclaycard and after 3 years of spam letters you would think that they would have taken the hint that I don’t want to be one either.

In the letter they say that they’ve got my details from a credit reference agency. They also give a web address that says I can opt out from marketing messages at anytime.

The problem is, when I visit the url listed in the letter, it has no options to ask them to stop sending me these crap letters. All it says is I need to log in to complete these steps.

Not much help when I don’t have any log in details nor do they give me a way to register either.

Trying a new approach?

I’ve now started sending the letters back in the supplied prepaid envelope with a note asking them to politely piss off!

If this fails to work, I will take things to the next level. See below!

The next step?

I was watching that new Joe Lycett show from Channel 4 via (4OD) last night and Liza Tarbuck was this weeks guest. She said that she fills return envelopes such as the ones from Barclaycard with pasta sheets so it sends them overweight and they then have to pay extra postage!

What a bloody good idea. It might finally wake Barclaycard up to the fact that I and many others don’t want these letters!

A message to Barclaycard

If you are reading this please stop with the junk mail. Not only is it annoying as hell but our planet has enough problems and cutting down more trees to sell credit cards is not a smart use of resources.

***Update August 2019***

These letters seemed to have stopped. Either me returning them in the prepaid envelopes has triggered this action or maybe Barclaycard have just stopped altogether.

Either way, it is good news as I was getting sick of keep shredding them.

If they start again I will keep you updated!
